Eating humble chili......

Our church had a chili cook-off last Sunday........it's something we do every year.

Everyone stirred, chopped, spiced, tested, and tasted their way to the perfect pot of chili to bring and have everyone vote for. It's always a lot of fun. Not everyone brings a chili, but everyone comes for a fun time of voting and fellowship...

Over time we have refined the rules...one being that each chili is numbered and put into plastic bowls for testing...that way, no one can judge from just the crockpot. Yep...folks know the crockpots! ;)

We always have fun teasing and bantering each other over who has the prize winning recipe and who can really cook, and this year...

drum roll please....

Olivia placed 3rd and I placed 1st! I think Byron got a little puffed up in his cooking skills and first place confidence, so 2nd seemed appropriate for him! Wink! It really was all very funny!

The irony of it all is that Olivia and I placed last year in the same order!

What can I say...we're just good cooks.  :)

Of course we are quite humble about this fact...:)
