Time Away...

Sunday, January 11, 2015 / Leave a Comment
It was so nice to spend the new year away...

It's always a little frantic the night before we leave...but it's so worth it.

We try to keep the house clean for when we come back home.
The last minute load of laundry seems to take forever to dry.
You make sure the little boys packed more then their favorite rady pants [because people will see them in town and think them homeless uncared for little urchins. :]
You make sure no old potatoes are lurking in a bag in the cupboard. [Did you know they can really give an unwelcoming smell after a long trip? They do.]
Mom irons everything...even pajamas.
You mop floors, sweep the porch, blow kisses to the two brothers who have to stay behind, remind them to feed the cat [whom they love very much...ahem] and thank the Lord you're finally on the road!

I feel like the family in the book, "When the Relatives Came" when they packed everything up and well, went to see their relatives! All the preparations and hard work are now behind and time away begins...

Being grateful for God allowing us to take this trip doesn't seem like a big enough word, but that is what I am.

Grateful.

Grateful for time with the nephew, his parents that love us and love Jesus, the surprise snow fall, phase ten, old bookstores, oreos, warm sweaters, church people, friends, bonfires, marshmallows, rainy days, no phone reception, coffee, christmas gifts, eating...and everything else.

I feel confetti love from the Lord.

Pizza is perfect on cold rainy days...

Thank you Shelton's for a cozy evening of fellowship...

Kyler loves books...Aunt Treasure about scares him with her rendition of "The Three Pigs" :)
Heather, I'm pretty sure your Mom started this...but here is Grandpa and Ama having cookies with Kyler...or kyler with them...not sure which.  :)
Sisters...

Heather prepared a perfectly cozy breakfast for all of us...

Ooo...I found my name!

The boys prayed for snow, and lo and behold, it did! It was beautiful...
Sunday lunch with the Keeners...Travis has been looking forward to "them Hurons" coming for months. :)Mr. and Mrs. Keener adopted Travis when he was two, and he loves when he can play with our little boys. Before church, Abe and Brittany took us up the hill for some shootin' too. We had some serious laughs!
Ty Man in his "nest"...
